I expected to discover new tunes, unprecedented beats and creative lyrics when I sat down to have a listen to Pitbull's new album, 'Planet Pit'. But while there were some highs, there were a just a few too many lows to get too excited about this body of work.

Album opener 'Mr. Worldwide' is a catchy tune with the potential to be a dance floor hit, while 'Give Me Everything' reminds me of two awesome months I spent in France this year. The song reminds me of hot nights in packed clubs at the old Marseilles port. The bridges and beats make 'Give Me Everything' the perfect weekend anthem for all those reckless party animals out there.

Other highlights for me were 'Castle Made Of Sand' (probably my favourite track from the album) and 'International Love' featuring Chris Brown.

However, 'Pause' suffers from too many actual pauses within the song, while Marc Anthony's vocals manage to ruin ‘Rain Over Me’, in my opinion.

And 'Shake Senora' is especially disappointing, assaulting my ears with three different melodies in the space of one minute.

Overall, 'Planet Pit' has some great potential but doesn't always deliver on it. But keep an ear out for a few of the stand-out tunes on a dancefloor near you – because those few really will get your toes tapping!
