Hosted by Dominic Bowden, with Melanie Blatt, Daniel Bedingfield, Stan Walker and Ruby Frost as the four-strong judging panel, ‘The X Factor NZ’ is the first local version of the global television phenomenon format. Tonight: The pressure builds as the Top 11 acts perform in front of the judges and a live studio audience. Public voting opens after the episode.

MasterChef New Zealand

After enjoying a celebratory six-course degustation menu by Simon Wright of The French Café, the Top Three are shocked to learn their challenge - to replicate two dishes each from Simon’s unfaultable six-course menu. The Top Three prepare their meals for 10 guests, and not just any guests, but culinary heavyweights including Martin Bosley, Sean Armstrong and Ben Bayly. It’s the ‘MasterChef’ semi-final and only two contestants will make it through.

Top Chef
FOUR, 7.30pm

Returning for its 10th season, this year sees famed chef and restaurant mogul Wolfgang Puck join Tom Colicchio, Gail Simmons, Hugh Acheson and Emeril Lagasse, as well as host Padma Lakshmi as 21 chefs compete for the 'Top Chef' crown. Tonight: Season 10 opens with 21 chefs battling for culinary honours in Seattle.

Pakipumeka Aotearoa: Te Hono Ki Aotearoa

The waka, Te Hono ki Aotearoa, was commissioned for a museum in The Netherlands by Toi Maori Aotearoa. This lively film describes its creation and the dedication of all involved to avoiding crashes of the inter-cultural kind.

Live action/CG-animated comedy that tells the story of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish - and has refused to leave his side ever since. Seth MacFarlane voices Ted, the boy's favourite toy who has become the man's biggest liability. Also Starring: Mila Kunis, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel McHale.

DCI Banks

‘Cold Is The Grave’ - Part two of two. In the series finale, the clock continues to tick as Banks and Cabbot struggle to find Chief Superintendent Rydell’s missing daughter, Emily. The investigation takes a number of alarming twists and Banks and Cabbot come to suspect one of their team to be implicated in a criminal conspiracy.
