TVNZ is planning a big budget local production of the entertainment show, 'NZ's Got Talent'.

The multi-million dollar production will screen on TV One.

Jeff Latch, Head of TV One and TV2, says "this globally successful entertainment show is open to talented New Zealanders of all ages".

"TV One is the natural home of big, local and entertaining shows and 'NZ's Got Talent' is a perfect fit, appealing to Kiwis of all ages," he says.

"This particular show is the biggest brand in its genre in the world and we are tremendously excited to have the opportunity to provide a platform for New Zealand performers."

NZ On Air has committed $1.6 million in funding subject to the full budget being confirmed.

Planning is still in the early stages and details will be released later, once full funding is secured.

Last time they had this show there were two people with talent. The teen dancer who won, and the little girl with the hula hoops. The rest were just totally talentless people that NZ managed to scrape together to make a show. Please don't run this show again, it's embarassing.
