Megaupload boss Kim Dotcom's arrest and time behind bars in New Zealand may be providing inspiration and material for his planned music album.
Dotcom, 38, who has been refused bail as the FBI seeks to extradite him on internet piracy charges, made a 30-second appearance on YouTube hit Megaupload Mega Song along with cameos from Kanye West, Chris Brown and Alicia Keys.
Now the producer of that song, Printz Board, the musical producer of the Black Eyed Peas, is working with Dotcom on a full-length album, MTV Hive website reports.
Joseph Besson, from Board's production company, told the website "it's a phenomenal project".
MTV Hive says the circumstances of Dotcom's arrest - in the safe room of his rented mansionin Auckland, allegedly with a shortened shotgun nearby - make perfect fodder for a rap song.
But the Time NewsFeed website notes that the prospect of being extradited to the US will make it difficult for Dotcom to have more studio time.
"Perhaps he'll pen some lyrics while in jail - it should provide some decent inspiration for a new track," NewsFeed's Nick Carbone writes.
