Brock Oliver: Your association with Quiksilver is a great shredding association. Who in the band surfs?

Shelton Woolright: We are all into extreme sports but i think it's safe to say snowboarding is the band's favorite. We were lucky enough this year to play the Queenstown Winterfest. We chucked in a few days up the mountain. Quiksilver have been great to us. This year alone we have played the British surf champs in Newquay, The Quik Pro France, which is part of the ASP in Biarritz and the Bali Open in Bali! So yea we have all definitely got our feet wet.

What are the major events for IAG in the next 6 months?

Our Summer tour of NZ which we are about to kick off! Then Big Day Out NZ and we just found out we are playing both Big Day Out shows in Sydney.

The most exciting thing coming up will be recording our debut record! We start tracking the drums in Sony Studios after BDO Sydney and track everything else in Sing Sing in Melbourne through to March! We are all really excited to finally get these songs tracked up.

Five fave things about the Kiwi summer...

The time of year, everyone is in good spirits, finishing work etc gearing up for the holidays.

Beach hopping, there are some amazing spots in NZ and the summer holidays are the best excuse to check them out!

Dark sunnys and Bikinis!!

BBQ's and Chilly bins!

The classic NY trip with friends, planning a sweet holiday with mates to some spot in NZ like Tairua where I'll be this year! (Well, after our NY's gig.)

Five top albums of 2010?

Strangely enough I only brought 4 albums this year and in no particular order they are:

Karnivool - Sound Awake
Dead Letter Circus - This Is The Warning
Deftones - Diamond Eyes

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Mojo

Highlight of the year, personally or globally

Signing a record deal with Sony. It's been a hard few years trying to get back on my horse as a recording artist. But I'm here and excited about the new chapter in my life.

IAG is somewhat of a cultural swap meet between Britain & NZ. You were formed and based in the UK, but have a decent dose of NZ members. Cool to have the Northern & Southern hemispheres covered?

We are very lucky we get to travel between the UK and NZ stopping everywhere in between. In the last 6 months we have been from NZ to LA, NYC, back to London, over to France, Singapore, Bali, Vietnam, Australia again and back to NZ chasing the sun! Our 2011 calender is looking pretty choka block already! Sometimes I have to pinch myself. I feel pretty lucky to be able to call this my job.

What do you want for Xmas?

I want a Cannon G12 digital camera. I have a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communications, majoring in Photography. Photography is one of my other passions outside of music. I have never made the transition from Film to Digital which is a great thing but i feel its time for change (get with the times bro*) I would like to do a exhibition at some point in the near future.

Top 3 movies of 2010?

This is sad because I think I have only been to the movies once in 2010 and that was to see Prince of Persia only because my friend was an extra in the film. I ended up walking out, it was really bad.

I've watched a bunch of films on the planes but seem to always go back to the classics like Shawshank Redemption. The best flick I watched on the plane lately was the Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers Story. I had a sing along to myself while sipping some whiskey, great way to clear your row on the plane. It ended up being pretty sweet, I got to stretch out and have a sleep.

Looking forward to most at BDO?

Tool, I've seen them a bunch of times but they are one of my all time favorite bands. We are lucky enough to be sharing the same stage so fingers crossed I can watch Danny Carey from side of stage. That would be EPIC!

Favourite venue to play in NZ?

Powerstation. I grew up watching so many bands there from Helmet to Pennywise. BDO main stage is always a goodie though, walking out to tens of thousands of people and playing on a stage and through a system that big is hard to beat.
