The 66th Annual Golden Globes: The winners
All the winners up to the minute from the 66th Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles.
2:10pm: First up it's Best Supporting actress in a drama, and Jennifer ‘Christmas Decorations' Lopez is presenting. She gives the lot of them a bit of sass when they won't shut up as she speaks. "Hello? I'm a-talkin' here!"

God she does sound like a Long Island housewife.

And the winner is Kate Winslet! She's bewildered and shocked. How cute! She has to read what turns out to be a very eloquent acceptance speech. Leo looks delighted for her.

"This is going on a bit but I'm going to make the most of it."

Eva Longoria Parker and Simon Baker introduce Rumer Willis, Miss Golden Globe, who basks in the spotlight. Cut to Demi and Ashton waving and beaming.

Englishman Tom Wilkinson takes home Best Supporting Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries, beating out Jeremy ‘Mercury Poisoning' Piven.

Laura Dern in Recount! wins Best Spporting Actress in TV Movie or Miniseries. Gets a long smooch from hubby Ben Harper. She was Miss Golden Globe herself, in 1982! Maybe there is hope for Rumer.

2:22pm: Don Cheadle introduces clip from ‘Burn After Reading.'

2:25pm: Zac Efron and Hayden Panettiere present Actor in TV series - Drama. Massive cheer for Hugh Laurie in House. Gabriel Byrne wins, and isn't even there! Ingrate.

2:30pm: Best Actress TV Series Drama - god, they're ploughing through. No dilly dally. This is Anna Paquin's category. I don't know if she'll get lucky? Not long to wait though. Ooooh, she did! Go, girl.

She's got a trace of the Kiwi accent still. Huzzah! We can all take some shared credit for that, you know the Aussies would.

2:38pm: Ricky Gervais gets on stage, and he was the high point of the Emmys show. He's got a pint in hand, and looks a tad slimmer. Don't tell us he's going all Hollywood. But he's presenting the second nominee for Best Comedy or Musical, Happy Go Lucky.

He's a bit dark about missing out on a nomination himself for his flick Ghost Town. "That's the last time I have sex with 200 middle-aged journalists. Europeans with wispy beards. The men were worse."

2:40pm: The Jonas Brother need some work reading naturally off the autocue, sounding rather robotic. They're presenting Best Animated Feature. And the winner is...Wall-E. Sadly the little robot doesn't appear to collect the film's prize.

2:42pm Wooohooo, Johnny Depp appears on stage! Swoon. He must have dodge the red carpet. He's presenting Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. He's got such a cool voice! Smooth. And the winner is...Sally Hawkins for Happy-Go-Lucky! She's bawling! Keep it together, Sally.

2:51pm: Jake Gyllenhaal gets a huge cheer as he comes out to introduce the clip for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

2:53pm: New best buds Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore chuckle it up on stage with their arms wrapped around each other, presenting Best Mini-Series or TV Movie. This is why Diddy's here! I was wondering. And the winner is...John Adams.

2:55pm: Demi Moore is presenting Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture, but first she has some motherly advice for Rumer. "Ru, I love you. Shoulders back." This is Heath's category. Will he take it? He does! Who'll accept it for him? It's director Chris Nolan. He's getting a standing ovation. Hollywood does have a heart after all. They show a film montage of his part as The Joker.

Nolan is rather somber and accepts "with an awful mixture of sadness and incredible pride....He will be eternally missed but he will never be forgotten."

Sniff.

3:05pm: Tom Brokaw introduces the clip from Frost/Nixon. This looks pretty good and I interviewed Michael Sheen once and he's a sweetheart, so I'll give it a bit of love. Not as much as Slumdog Millionaire though.

3:06pm: Yay, Colin Farrell! A good old Dub accent never goes astray. He's introducing Best Foreign Language Film. And the winner is...Israeli movie Waltz With Bashir.

3:09pm: Aaron Eckhart and Maggie Gyllenhaal come out to present Best Actress In A Miniseries or TV Movie. Wow, the lineup of nominees is impressive, but there can only be one winner, and that's Laura Linney in John Adams

3:17pm Gerard Butler comes out to present the clip from In Bruges, which I love, and has a surprisingly strong accent. He also tells people to sssssh. I wonder if he's met Jennifer Lopez before?

3:18pm Elizabeth Banks and Seth Rogen co-star in Zack and Miri Make a Porno and are presenting Best Screenplay. Go Slumdog Millionaire!!! Great success. Slumdog screenwriter Simon Beaufoy picks up the little gold statue.

3:21pm: Amy Poehler and Patrick Dempsey present Best Actor in a TV Comedy. I'd like Alec Baldwin to win. He does! I hope he doesn't call anyone a rude thoughtless pig in his speech.

"I'm so old!" he says. "I remember I used to bring Rumer Willis a juice box."

3:25pm: Renee Zellweger looks rather nice, although her hair is a bit country. She's introducing the clip for The Reader, which I really want to see.

3:30pm:
Megan Fox and Terrence Howard present the award for Best Actor in a TV Movie or Miniseries, and it goes to Paul Giamatti in John Adams. Looks like he celebrated his nomination by growing a rather large pair of sideburns.

3:33pm: Glenn Close and Laurence Fishburne emerge to present Best TV Series Musical or Comedy. Go 30 Rock! And the winner is...30 Rock. Yay, Tina Fey! Star Tracy Morgan accepts the statue, as he says he's the spokesman for the show since ‘Barack Obama won.'

3:42pm: Pierce Brosnan introduces a clip from Mamma Mia! nominated for Best Picture Comedy or Musical. Unsurprising, since he stars in it.

3:44pm: Kate Beckinsale and Diddy make an odd presenting combo, and are bestowing Best Soundtrack on one lucky, er, Soundtracker. Slumdog Millionaire gets a big cheer from the crowd. And the globe goes to...A.R. Rahman for Slumdog Millionaire. He thanks ‘the billion people of India'.

3:46pm: Jane Krakowski and David Duchovny appear to give out Best Actress in a TV Comedy. It'd be nice if Christina Applegate won after her struggle with cancer, but the winner is...Tina Fey! The others all put on their gracious loser faces. Fey causes a minor stir by telling several internet bloggers who don't like her to ‘suck it.' Weyhey! She's such a legend. Why do more people not watch 30 Rock?

3:54pm: From one legendary director to another: Martin Scorcese presents the Cecil B. DeMille award to Steven Spielberg. They go to a Spielberg career montage, quite lengthy, so thankfully I can nip out and make a cup of tea. Spielberg looks weird without the beard.

4:12pm Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman (she tells people to shush as well. What is up with that?) pop up on stage to present the award for Best Director. Dustin seems to be forgetting his lines. I want Danny Boyle to win for, you guessed it, Slumdog Millionaire, but I don't mind if it's David Fincher. And the winner is...Danny Boyle! I think Slumdog Millionaire's won everything it's been nominated for so far. Could Best Picture also be on the cards?

"Your mad pulsating affection for our film is very much appreciated," says Boyle to much applause.

4:18pm: A white-clad Sandra Bullock is up to present Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. Javier Bardem's name's read out, but he's not there! Where is he? I'm crushed. Announcing In Bruges, apparently, was the first time Sandy ever used the word ‘Flemish' in a sentence. And the winner is...Colin Farrell.

He gives it the old ‘thanks a million' and professes ‘absolute shock' rather genuinely. Mind you, he is an actor. He offers half to his co-star and fellow nominee Gleeson, saying 'I'll cut it after I get off stage and you can have a hemisphere.' Bless!

4:26pm: Salma Hayek arrives on stage to introduce Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy nominee Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

4:28pm: A suited and booted Sacha Baron Cohen. His real accent is rather posh, and he gets a few laughs. He talks briefly of these hard economic times and how even celebrities are making sacrifices. Victoria Beckham hasn't eaten for three weeks, he quips and even Madonna has had to get rid of one of her personal assistants. "Our thoughts go out to you, Guy Ritchie." Haha!

He's presenting Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. And the winner is...Vicky Cristina Barcelona. But where's Woody Allen?

4:37pm: Cameron Diaz and Mark Wahlberg emerge with some forced banter and the nominees for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama. They're all so good. I want the Jolie to lose out so she can shoot the winner another death stare. Kate Winslet gets the loudest cheer, and the winner is...Kate Winslet! Wow. Two in one night!

Suspect the waterworks have already started, and she can hardly speak! I think maybe she's going to hyperventilate. "Thank you so much! Meryl, Anne, Kristin...oh God, who's the other one? Oh, Angelina."

Hahaha.

"Please wrap up!" she exclaims. "Oh you have no idea how much I'm not wrapping up."

She gives a shout out to mate Leo DiCaprio and some teary thanks to hubby Sam Mendes, who directed Revolutionary Road. Bless! I love Kate Winslet.

4:42pm: Blake Lively and Rainn Wilson come out to present Best TV Drama. And the globe goes to Mad Men.

4:49pm: Susan Sarandon emerges alone to announce the Best Actor in a Motion Picture  - Drama. Leo DiCaprio seems a popular choice for the audience. Brad Pitt doesn't get so much hullabaloo. Neither do Rourke or Penn. But Mickey Rourke wins for his role in The Wrestler He's stoked! Lord he's had so much plastic surgery, he's like a walking Frankenstein. It's not mean if it's true. He's still got his sunglasses on, a particular pet peeve of mine, but he's speaking rather eloquently - and everyone loves a comeback story.

4:58pm: Tom Cruise pops up to present Best Motion Picture - Drama, the big one of the evening. And the globe goes to Slumdog Millionaire. Yay!

And that's it from the 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards for another year. To the victors, the spoils!
