The second movie in the ongoing phenomenon that is Twilight, New Moon, has been unleashed on the world's cinemas - and all week the media's been beaming pictures of large queues at box offices and screaming teenage girls as they awaited the second movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's four-book series.

Perhaps it can be blamed on the heatwave sweeping the nation, but for some reason Aussies are up in arms that Britney's not singing live on her current tour - presumably prompting plenty of cries of ‘strewth' and ‘stone the flamin' crows.'

Or possibly only if Alf Stewart was in attendance.

How concertgoers in Australia aren't aware that Britney has almost never sung live is beyond me. She didn't do it through Europe and her two tours of North America. ...

You know I love a scandal, and this week each of the mags is running the tawdry tale of Fergie's husband, actor Josh Duhamel, and the Atlanta stripper who says she made sexy times with him while the actor was shooting on location - and far from the clutches of his Black Eyed Pea wife.

Pish posh? Normally I would say yes. Especially when you read on and discover the source of this story is tacky American tabloid The National Enquirer. ...

There's rather a Kiwi flavour to the mags this week. What's involved in a Kiwi flavour? I imagine it as a combination of Reduced Cream dip, tomato sauce, a dash of sunscreen and the whiff of an old jandal. At any rate, local goss is a welcome taste of homegrown that's often few and far between in the gossip trade.
