Now the reigning king of Hollywood, George Clooney, has kicked his last consort to the kerb, the 47-year-old is single once more. And what's an Oscar-winning, dashing looking multi-millionaire to do when it comes to affairs of the heart?

I suggest a Wife For William style show for our beloved Clooney. Although as he's vowed never to marry again, we'll have to call it A Gal Pal For George.

So what's Clooney's type? If we consider his romantic track record, it's quite surprising that Gorgeous George hasn't really hooked up with any women on an equal professional par with him in Hollywood. I would imagine there would be plenty of willing candidates, but he seems to opt for the younger model, good looking waitresses or wannabe actresses, who keep quiet, look pretty and are prepared to be showered with all the trappings an A-list actor boyfriend could provide.

Most recent girlfriend Sarah Larson was a one-time Fear Factor contestant and Las Vegas cocktail waitress when they started going out. Ex-girlfriend Celine Balitran was a French law student. Lisa Snowdon is a UK TV host and model. Krista Allen has found herself in such cinematic fare as the upcoming Final Destination 4 and Feast 2: Sloppy Seconds. Not a porn flick either, from what I can gather.

George is rich and good looking, that's a doozy. He was married once, briefly to actress Talia Balsam in the ‘80s. His longest relationship was with Max, his 18-year-old pot-bellied pig, who died in 2006. He's won an Oscar, been named one of Time magazine's Most Influential People of 2007, and he's a notorious practical joker. And he invites the Jolie-Pitt brood round to his every once in a while to remind him why he doesn't want kids.

He once bet former co-stars Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer $10,000 each that he would be single and childless by the age of 40. Clooney won, and sent their cheques back for a double or nothing bet that he would still be single and childless at 50.

So without further ado, who's the right lady for George?

The contenders

Cameron Diaz. She's not too similar to the meek looking, relatively quiet ladies that Clooney's dated in the past. But he's a fun loving practical joker, and Cameron is equally as light hearted in her approach to life. She's goofy - but how goofy is too goofy? She's mega successful in her own right and completely independent. She's also a self-proclaimed bachelorette, which may mesh well with Clooney's casual attitude to romance.

Cons: He seems to go for the ladylike ladies. Could he handle a sporty tomboy that burps and farts?

Liv Tyler. Here's a strong horse to back. Newly single, this 30-year-old New Yorker is beautiful, classy, worldly and already famous. He's a sucker for a pretty face, and this one certainly has that.

Cons: Clooney has openly admitted to his ambivalence towards kids, which may not bode well for Liv's three-year-old son, Milo.

Jessica Simpson. Girl deserves a break, and can you imagine? This would totally make her life. Talk about an upgrade from Nick Lachey and that dirty-looking John Mayer. Jess is all-American, good looking and seems like a nice girl, with a not insignificant set of bosoms. And don't tell me that doesn't matter to a guy, George Clooney or not! No kids, footloose and fancy free. He doesn't seem to chase people as successful as he is, which she certainly isn't. And she's 20 years younger than him which seems to fit his type.

Cons He may be forced to listen to her records.

Kim Kardashian. Loves the limelight. Has a very famous ass. A reality TV star, like his ex Sarah. And loves the limelight, which he doesn't seem to mind.

Cons: A racy reputation including a spread for Playboy and a much hyped sex tape.

Reese Witherspoon. On the surface, this seems like a good match. Both are southern, both are Oscar winners, and both are at the top of their game professionally.

Cons. Reese is renowned for taking things seriously, and I wouldn't imagine she'd take to kindly to her fella cavorting round the place with his mates, as Clooney is inclined to do. Can you imagine Reese with a pet pig in the house? Me neither. Do you ever see Jake Gyllenhaal round town on a motorbike, enjoying himself? Exactly. Plus, she' s got two kids, which is a cross in George's book.

Gisele Bundchen. Can you imagine? They would be such a hot couple. What's not to like about a young Brazilian supermodel with one of the most rocking bods in the business? Imagine the babies!! Plus, she's the highest earning model in the world, so it's not like she'd be using him for the publicity. And she's had a superstar boyfriend before in the form of Leo DiCaprio so she knows what comes with the territory.

Cons. If there are some, I can't think of any. Hello, Brazilian supermodel!
