Eau de Witherspoon inspired by the south
By Bang! Showbiz
Reese Witherspoon's new perfume is inspired by her mother.
The 'Walk The Line' actress has spent two years developing In Bloom for Avon, and says it was based on memories of her mum's fragrance and her childhood in Tennessee, USA.
She said: "We started with a set of ideas ... about sensory memories, what it was like growing up in Tennessee and what I remember of my mother and my grandmother wearing perfume-wise.
"A large part of my childhood was spent in my yard with a gigantic magnolia tree, so I knew it had to have magnolia in it."
As well as her mother, Reese also revealed her grandmother was part of the inspiration.
She said: "When my grandmother was done with the perfume, she would give me the bottle so that there was just a little bit left.
"I remember thinking, 'It's so beautiful having these things sitting on your dresser.'"
The actress - who lives in Los Angeles with children Ava, 10, and five-year-old Deacon - recently revealed she was still homesick for Tennessee.
She said: "Sometimes it's really difficult for me, being far away from home and living in Los Angeles.
"I never imagined that my children wouldn't grow up next door to my brother's children - or my mom and dad wouldn't constantly be around."
