The 13-episode, hourlong show from Matt Nix centers on Jack, an ambitious, by-the-book cop who is partnered with Dan (Whitford), a drunken, lecherous, wild-card cop who hangs onto his job only because of a heroic act years earlier.
Filming on the show, an action comedy in the tone of Nix's USA Network hit "Burn Notice," is slated to begin early next year.
Emmy winner Whitford ("The West Wing") will next be seen in the horror thriller "The Cabin in the Woods," co-written by Joss Whedon.
