French DJ David Guetta dances to top of UK charts

LONDON (Reuters) - French DJ David Guetta has secured his first British number one single with the rousing dancefloor hit "When Love Takes Over," the Official Charts Company said on Sunday.

The Paris-born artist's collaboration with American R&B singer Kelly Rowland climbed six places to replace English teenager Pixie Lott at the top of the charts.

Lott's "Mama Do" slipped to second, pushing U.S. band The Black Eyed Peas down to third spot with their dance track "Boom Boom Pow."

In a little-changed top 10, the highest climber was reformed English band Take That with "Said It All," which rose to number nine from 48th last week.

British rock band Kasabian spent another week at the top of the album chart with their concept album "West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum."

Albums from veteran acts dominated the list of new entries.

The late Beatle George Harrison was the highest newcomer at number four with "Let It Roll," a greatest hits compilation that includes "Here Comes the Sun" and "My Sweet Lord."

Heavy metal band Black Sabbath entered the chart at 19 with a greatest hits release, while Britpop group Blur's new album "Midlife: A Beginner's Guide" debuted at 19.

Former Kinks frontman Ray Davies was a new entry at 28 with a collection of reworked Kinks songs recorded with a large choir, while Scottish duo The Proclaimers completed the top 30 with "Notes & Rhymes."
