'Fright Night' remake in works

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Vampires continue their bloody winning streak at the movies, with DreamWorks picking up a remake of the 1985 horror comedy "Fright Night."

The original "Fright Night," written and directed by Tom Holland, centered on a teenager who discovers that his neighbors are vampires.

No writer has been hired yet for the updated version, but the aim is to keep the comic horror tone while modernizing the effects.

Michael Gaeta and Alison Rosenzweig of Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films are producing along with Michael De Luca.
