'X-Men' actress Rebecca Romijn has given birth to twin girls named Dolly and Charlie, it was announced yesterday.

The 'Ugly Betty' star and her actor husband Jerry O'Connell became proud parents on December 28, her representative confirmed.

Their happy news was revealed by the couple's DJ friend Howard Stern on his radio show on Monday morning.

Former model Romijn's rep confirmed: "Mother, father and both girls are all home and doing well."

Shock jock Stern had earlier told listeners: "They had twin girls, Dolly and Charlie.

"Rebecca likes Dolly Parton, so they named the one after Dolly Parton, and Jerry got to name the other one Charlie.

"His brother's name is Charlie - and it's a girl Charlie."

The twins' full names are Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip.

Romijn, 36, spent the last few months of her pregnancy on bed rest and told in November how she was planning to take "quite a bit of time off" after having the twins.

She told US magazine 'People': "I really want this to be my job for at least the next six months."
